Our Vision

Our vision is to see all people come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord to the glory of God.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be and build committed, reproducing followers of Jesus who worship God, connect with others, grow in His Word and go take the gospel to our world.

Our History

Immanuel Baptist Church has a long and rich history of serving our community and proclaiming the name of Jesus. When founded in 1892, Immanuel was named Third Baptist Church, but on October 16 of the same year, the members agreed to change the name to Immanuel Baptist Church, signifying “God with us.” Through the years, Immanuel has been blessed with outstanding pastoral leadership including Rev. J.B. English, Dr. W. O. Vaught Jr., Dr. Rex M. Horne Jr., Dr. Gary Hollingsworth, and our current pastor, Dr. Steven W. Smith. A major building renovation was completed in 1992 at Immanuel’s Bishop location, and a number of satellite ministries have been launched including Immanuel West in 1995, Immanuel Brookwood in 1998, Immanuel Chinese Ministry in 2000 and Immanuel Hispanic Ministry in 2001. In June of 2001, Immanuel members voted to relocate our church to its present location. The first service on the new campus was held December 21, 2003.
