This is a Small Group initiative designed to equip and enable Christ-followers to live out the Great Commission and Great Commandment as a community of believers.

Interactive discussion is encouraged during verse-by-verse Bible study, led by a team of teachers with a variety of instructional styles.

The Davis’ desire is to create a covenant community who intentionally commit to doing life together, studying God’s Word together and living a missional lifestyle in an effort to impact our homes, our city and beyond.

A lecture and discussion format is used to guide the class in Bible study, while fellowships offer opportunities for members to build relationships with each other. The class also participates in community service projects.

Couples and singles in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s
Sunday School study format changes as needed. We have monthly fellowships to stay connected. The class is small on purpose for good interactive discussions and never without debate. We support each other in life’s trials and challenges without judgment.

Led in their study by Guy Wade, class members meet on Sundays to discuss God’s Word and what it says about relevant issues. They also meet outside class for a variety of fellowships that encourage fun and build relationships.

Mixing a traditional Bible study based on Sunday School literature with the occasional topical approach, leaders offer a lecture-style format that encourages questions and discussion.

Phil Spigner

Pastor for Ministry & Leadership

Phil Spigner joined Immanuel in 1990. He and his wife, Wanda, have two sons, Brian (wife Kristen) and Ross (wife Caroline). Phil received a B.S. in church ministry from Mississippi College and a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. As Associate Pastor for Ministry and Leadership, Phil, along with our members, seeks the Lord’s direction for the various ministries of Immanuel and helps our members grow and fulfill their call to serve Jesus Christ. The desire of Phil’s heart is to be God’s man no matter what task the day may bring, big or small, to be able to do it for the Lord.
